Based on aerial photographs, we are planning the layout of agriculture and aquaculture facilities centered on land-based salmon aquaculture. Linking aquaculture, hydroponics, open-field farming and moringa cultivation into a single regional cycle, we add new options to Towada's food and industry.

01Land-based salmon aquaculture

Water quality and rearing conditions are managed in 35 circular tanks, each 12 m in diameter.

02Hydroponics and aquaponics

Hydroponic cultivation in greenhouses, plus seedling and work areas.

03Fields and moringa trial cultivation

Greenhouse and open-field growing spaces, connected with local agriculture.

04Water treatment and nature conservation

Purification and shared facilities, with care for the primeval forest and surrounding environment built in.

Joso City
Land-Based Aquaculture Project

Planning a sustainable aquaculture base suited to the region.

In light of land conditions such as urbanization control areas, we switched the Joso City plan from an MgO factory to a land-based aquaculture business. We are now considering the business, equipment and operations to create a facility in harmony with the local environment.

  • Fish species and facility scale under consideration
  • Equipment plan focused on recirculating filtration and water-quality management
  • Preparing for commercialization through repeated discussions with the community

Kota Town MgO Plant

An indoor production base designed with care for the natural environment and surrounding facilities.

In the Fukozu Sasaba district, we are advancing a plan that combines an indoor plant with renewable energy equipment. With safety as the top priority, including 24-hour monitoring, anomaly detection, emergency shutdown and regular inspections, we are carefully explaining the plan to local residents as discussions proceed.

  • High-purity MgO of 99.99% (4N) planned
  • Phase 1 plan: 48 t / year
  • Details may change depending on contracts, permits and design discussions
Contract planned: September 2026
